CFEP participated to the Digital Democracy in the EU: from E-participation to Co-legislating with Citizens conference, which explored the new possibilities for democratic engagement in the digital age.

The recent experience about and future potential for crowdsourcing legislation was discussed during the first panel.

European citizens were one of the main points of the discussion and presentations. The need of restoring the trust and awareness of European citizens concerning the institutions and the legislation policies was put in the limelight. According to experts, young people are eager to participate in EU projects and during the new era of digital market, they possess a variety of digital tools in order to achieve that. Although, technology should be used wisely in balance with other factors, European citizens’ engagement could be a reality combining online and offline use of sources. During the second part of the event, the speakers were presenting several, national-level best-practices from Europe.
